A sedimentary stone formed over 600 million years ago when clay deposits compacted into layers, the distinctive color banding is likely due to the consistent precipitation of hematite-rich bands as fluids migrated through the layers.
Zebra agates are almost always black and white like their namesake but have been known to have color variations like red, brown, and green. They were originally discovered in Kunnanurra, East Kimberley, in the western part of Australia but are now found around the world.
Zebra agates are the optimist’s stone. It helps one see past illusions, develop staying power, and take action. This mineral refuses to let one see failure as an option. These agates are strong grounding stones that also serve as a reminder never to give all of one’s love force away.
