Rutilated Quartz

Rutilated quartz is the stone of perspective. Inside a glass-clear crystal, tiny strands of rutile array themselves, sometimes randomly and sometimes in patterns like parallel bands, swirls that resemble a lock of golden hair, or even a distinct star. Reddish gold from the combination of titanium dioxide with iron oxide, the needle-like rutile stretches out in all directions, searching to bring the unknown into the light. Rutilated quartz has long been used in ornamental and religious objects for its beauty and fabled ability to slow down the aging process.

When paired with the amplifying powers of quartz, the rutile slices through fog and gets to the root of problems. When formed as a star, it lets one’s mind soar to a higher consciousness and see the path that was hidden before.
