Galena

On the volcanic planet of Venus, temperatures on the lower plains reach 894 degrees, hot enough to vaporize minerals on its surface and turn them into a shiny metallic mist. At higher altitudes, temperatures drop, and this mist condenses, snowing Galena upon the mountains. On Earth, Galena crystalizes in octahedral cubes like building blocks.

Ancient Egyptians turned it into the eye cosmetic kohl to protect against the desert sun while century home hobbyists found it to be the perfect semiconductor to power their crystal radios. Today it is considered the forerunner of all our electronic systems. Metaphysically then it makes sense that it provides grounding and enhances the centering of one’s energies. The “Stone of harmony,” Galena stimulates interaction between people and decreases self-limiting ideas like the notion that metal could never fall from the sky.
